Shovel Knight is the titular protagonist from the indie game Shovel Knight and a wrestler for EDBW. Shovel Knight originally participated in Star Road 2 due to fan support, and was soon called up to EDBW shortly after. Shovel Knight acted as the enforcer for The Lich King as part of the tag team Knights of The Ebon Spade until Arthas turned his back on him.
In Shovel Knight[]
Shovel Knight is the heroic champion of his land, and, together with his beloved Shield Knight, reaped the glorious treasures of the land, until one day when they stumble across a cursed amulet in the Tower of Fate, sealing Shield Knight away and separating the duo. Believing his beloved to have passed on from this world, Shovel Knight enters a state of self-hibernation, sealing himself away from the world and his adventuring, until the Tower of Fate becomes unsealed and the world once again becomes in peril from an evil Enchantress and a group known as the Order of No Quarter. With this new threat, and the small chance that he may be able to save his beloved Shield Knight, he picks up his trusty shovel and sets out once again to save the world, encountering many odd individuals during the course of his adventure.
In EDBW[]
Due to popular demand, Shovel Knight was selected as one of 16 participants of Star Road 2. He lost to Professor Layton in the first round. Few weeks later, Shovel Knight made his EDBW debut on Episode 29, which happened to be the Royal Rumble. He would have his first official match in the opening episode of Season 4, being defeated by fellow Star Road 2 participant Liquid Snake in an Inferno Match.
Like many others, Shovel Knight was randomly paired with other wrestler for Random Thing Picker Tournament. He was paired with the Lich King, and the team was dubbed as Knights of the Ebon Spade, though were eliminated in the first round by the team of Reyn & Asura. The duo decided to remain as a team, even though Shovel Knight was reluctant on joining The Lich King's evil cause.
